The National Lottery simplifies their hybrid cloud management thanks to Azure Arc

Hybrid infrastructure with centralized control
The National Lottery’s IT environment was quite complex: they had both on-premises servers and cloud solutions (IaaS and PaaS) spread across various tools and partners. This naturally made standardization and consistency in terms of security and monitoring particularly challenging. To tackle this challenge, they turned to their new managed service provider: Arxus, our parent company.
“In the initial phase, we took over the National Lottery’s cloud environment as-is. Shortly after that, we started an optimization track", says Ken Kenis, one of our Azure architects. “It didn’t take us long to realize that the main issue was a lack of visibility. So, we decided to enable Azure Arc on their on-premises servers.”
Azure Arc: the bridge between on-prem and cloud
To best manage the National Lottery's hybrid infrastructure, we installed Azure Arc on their on-prem servers. By doing so, we could both ensure that their entire environment was visible in Azure and easily apply all of our cloud services to the rest of their IT infrastructure.

By managing their hybrid infrastructure in the same way they manage their cloud, they can respond more quickly and optimize more effectively. And they’re very grateful for that.
